Using ActiveHome Pro for X10 (Part 1)
Ok, the software is installed and up to date. Now its time to get your X10 system up and running! Below is a screen shot of the software:
The left column contains the different sections of the program, ROOMS, MODULES, MACROS, TIMERS. We are going to look at the ROOMS and MODULES sections first. You create one or more rooms in your ActiveHome and then add the X10 hardware that is located in the room.
In this example, I have cleverly named the only room as "My Room", and have eight X10 devices in this room. You can use only one room, if you wish, but as you add more modules it may get a little confusing.

By clicking the plus sign to the right of ROOMS, you can |

Next we are going to look at the modules. Under the Left MODULES, you see the the subcategories: Lamps, Appliances, etc. When you click on a subcategory, all of the modules within that category will appear on the bottom of your screen:
So, if I wanted to add a Socket Rocket LM15A to my room, I would left click on the socket, drag it up to My Room and release the mouse button. The module has been added to your room. In this case it was added as New LM15A.

Right click on the NEW LM15A. The Edit module box pops up. Now, you can change the info on the X10 module. Give the module a meaningful name (Master Bedroom Closet for example). The next two fields let you change the module type in case you made a mistake. You can select a different room for the module. Finally, the house code and unit code can be selected. Make your changes and press OK. |
That's it ! It's very easy to get your X10 ActiveHome house working.
