HR12A Palm Pad Remote Control

The HR12A remote control pad allows you to control up to 16 devices.  The overall size of the of the pad is approximately 4.5 inches tall, 2.75 inches wide and .75 inches in thickness.

ImageThe controller uses 2 AAA batteries.  I use rechargeable NIMH batteries without any problems.

The left size of the pad had a clear plastic overlay that snaps over a paper template.  The template is labeled 1-8 on one side, and 9-16 on the other side.  You can remove the plastic overlay and either write on the template directly or use the stickers included.

At the bottom left is the control to set the house code.  Simply use a flat blade screwdriver to set the housecode that you wish to use.  The default code is (naturally) housecode A.

On the right side of the control are eight rows of white buttons, a row of blue buttons, and then a gray slide switch.

The gray slider "sets" the address code of the white buttons.  When the switch is to the left, the buttons above will be set to 1 through 8.  Set to the right, the slider will control devices 9-16.

The blue buttons will let you dim or brighten the last device that you have turned on - if the device responds to dim / bright commands.

I currently use two of these controllers.  I turn on the upstairs hall and bedroom lights before I head upstairs.  I use the second controller in the bedroom to turn off the downstairs lights. Can't beat it !!
